Configuring your Printed Chart Output

  • Updated

Before you hit the print button, take note of the display options you have selected for your chart, as these will carry over to the printed chart.

To print a chart, click the download button in the top right corner of the chart window and select Print from the dropdown.

This will open a preview window that allows you to see how your printed output will appear and decide what is included in the printed chart. The "include header" options allows you to decide whether all of the chart data shown at the top of the preview will appear on the printed version. The "additional columns" option will leave extra space on the right of the chart so you can continue charting by hand on the printed chart.

Hitting Ctrl+P on your keyboard will open this window automatically.

If you want to print the entire page, right click on the screen and select print.

You can set default states for these options under the "Printing" section of the "Chart" tab within Site Preferences

The additional options under printing preferences allow you to show any system alerts and suggested covered call contracts if there are any related to the chart you are printing. The "Black Grid Lines" option darkens the lines of the chart to make them easier to see on the printed output and assist with hand-charting.

Within the chart preview window, you also have the option of configuring the chart size manually rather than using the Auto Size feature.

The below illustration explains how the manual sizing works and how you can use it to view additional chart history beyond what the Auto Sized chart displays.

The values you enter into the advanced options may counteract one another. For example, if you expand the height and width of the chart, it may need to reduce the font size to account for the altered dimensions

You can use the Offset X and Offset Y advanced options to create additional space for hand charting beyond what is added with the Additional Columns option
